Student Employment & Volunteering
Student Health & 911±¬ÁÏÍøllness Center (SHWC) has job opportunities for student employees to work on various non-clinical tasks. Some duties include checking in patients at the immunization compliance front desk, assisting with the immunization compliance process and helping out with health-related events as part of patient outreach.
To ensure that our patients feel secure about confidentiality, undergraduates are
not permitted to work or volunteer in exam rooms.

Student Health & 911±¬ÁÏÍøllness Center has 3 volunteer programs:
--Health Support (HSS) - individuals may not volunteer in exam room, but may take
vitals to support nursing in SHWC clinic or at vaccination events. Must have health
certifications. For additional information contact here.
--Medical Response Unit (MRU) - individual must be certified paramedic, EMT or EMR to assist with mobile medical
response. For application contact here
--Operations - individuals support patient intake, urgent care clinic, and patient
outreach at health events through greeting patients, assisting clinic Patient Services
staff, and communicating with Triage Nurse on duty. For additional information contact here.
