  • Online Leadership Courses
    • One-hour courses include New Manager Foundations, Delegating Tasks, Leading Projects, Leadership Foundations, Influencing Others, Having Difficult Conversations
  • Leadership Enrichment
    • Interactive, cohort-based program that provides USF mid-level leaders with the opportunity to expand self-awareness of effective leadership skills and style

Professional Development Certificates

  • Four different certificate programs available: Effective Communication, Conflict Management, Problem Solving, Employee Motivation (both a supervisor and an employee track)
  • Each program consists of 5-7 courses
  • Content is free and available through LinkedIn Learning
  • Program participants must complete a series within one year in order to receive credit in GEMS and a certificate of completion

USF Training & certification

University Controller’s Office

  • Accounting and financial training to provide understanding of the USF financial system, including funding sources, data systems, etc.
  • Most trainings are PowerPoint presentations/video modules accessible via /business-finance/controller/about/training.aspx 

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

  • Trainings on fire safety, occupational safety and cart/utility vehicle safety
  • No cost courses in classroom and/or online formats on a scheduled or upon request basis; enrollment through Employee Self Service in GEMS

Continuing education

Employee Tuition Program

  • Employees are encouraged to pursue continuous learning, including taking USF courses
  • ETP allows full-time USF employees (excluding Temporary employees) to waive tuition costs of up to 6 credit hours per semester
  • USF credit-earning courses only
  • Excludes all Performance, Practicum, Continuing Education, Cooperative Education, Correspondence Courses, Life-long Learning, Directed Individual Study or Research, Internships, Program for Adult Credit Education (PACE), non-credit earning courses, auditing of a course

  • Non-degree programs designed to provide students with specialized knowledge that is less extensive than a degree program
  • Programs and qualifications vary
  • Cost to attend varies depending upon the certificate, residency status and whether taking courses online or on-campus
