Overview
The USF Social Science Education Program prepares students for careers as social studies teachers, instructional leaders, curriculum designers, and researchers. The social studies (as history, civics, and geography) deal with human relationships and the way society works.
Our undergraduate and graduate degree programs prepare students to teach social studies at the secondary grades (6-12) level. In addition, our program offers courses on teaching social studies in the elementary school setting.
USF's Social Science Education program faculty have divergent scholarly interests, perspectives, and approaches that are recognized nationally and internationally in their respective areas of expertise. You can learn more about them on our faculty page.
