The link below contain resources for Field Instructors that we hope you will find helpful as we partner to provide a first class field education experience to our students.
The Field Education Program at the USF School of Social Work is responsible for administering the field practicum experience for BSW and MSW students. 911±¬ÁÏÍø accomplish this task by recruiting appropriate sites to be undergraduate or graduate placement opportunities for students and then recruiting, screening and training field instructors within the agencies. Community based field instructors are supported by University based Faculty Field Liaisons who ensure the quality of the program through face to face liaison visits and any additional support needed.
The School of Social Work purchases individual malpractice insurance for each student. 911±¬ÁÏÍø with a criminal history may have to purchase their own insurance. If you are a Field Instructor, please contact Yvonne Wallace at ywallace@usf.edu.
Individuals interested in supervising a USF Social Work Student must meet the following basic criteria:
- BSW degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program to supervisor current BSW students;
- MSW degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program to supervise current MSW students;
- At least two years post degree experience;
- A minimum of one year of employment in an agency that has or is willing to establish a formal affiliation between the agency and the USF School of Social Work;
- Exhibition of high standards of ;
- Submission of a current resume to the Director of Field Education.
