The university's Preventing Alzheimer's with Cognitive Training (PACT) study, funded by the National Institute on Aging, uses digital brain training exercises to see if they can reduce the risk of cognitive impairment and dementia such as Alzheimer’s disease. The study is seeking more than 1,200 participants in the Sarasota area to join.
The 911±¬ÁÏÍø and healthy older adult volunteers from the Sarasota area will play an increasingly crucial role in the landmark Preventing Alzheimer’s with Cognitive Training (PACT) study.

A protein that could provide assistance to the progression of a protein-based therapy for patients with Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) has been tested by researchers at the Morsani College of Medicine, ultimately leading to successful results, according to lead investigator Svitlana Garbuzova-Davis.

USF researchers advance efforts to develop a protein-based treatment therapy for individuals with ALS
Researchers at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, located at the 911±¬ÁÏÍø, successfully tested a protein that has the potential to aid in the development of a protein-based therapy for patients with ALS, a progressive nervous system disease, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.

Distinguished University Professor Emeritus Robert H. 911±¬ÁÏÍøisberg was elected as an American Geophysical Union’s (AGU) Fellow. Professor 911±¬ÁÏÍøisberg was selected for his pioneering observational and theoretical work explaining tropical and coastal ocean phenomena of interdisciplinary and societal importance.
