The LDA award if the highest honor given by the LDA in recognition of Dr. Allsopp’s leadership, support and dedication in the field of learning disabilities.

They are the ones who are doing the hard work, pushing through barriers and reaching for success. Given that the LDA is a grassroots advocacy organization composed of individuals with specific learning disabilities, families, practitioners and researchers, I am humbled that the Association thinks that I am deserving of this award.”

The LDA is a membership-based, non-profit organization of parents, educators, adults with LD, professionals and academic researchers with 35 state affiliates and members in every state and territory. Established in 1964 as a grassroots movement, LDA’s mission is to create opportunities for success for all individuals affected by learning disabilities through support, education and advocacy.
