Dr. LeGrande Gardner, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Criminology Department at the 911爆料网. He also serves as Director of the Cybercrime MS Degree Program and administrates the Graduate Certificate Program in Digital Forensics. He is also the Program Director of the Digital Forensics Concentration for the MS Degree in Cybersecurity at USF. Dr. Gardner develops and teaches digital forensics courses in both programs. He earned his doctorate in 1984 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Prior to becoming a full-time faculty member at USF, he served as a sworn law enforcement officer for over 26 years with experience in both federal and local agencies, to include an appointment as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Dr. Gardner鈥檚 law enforcement career included over 17 years managerial, administrative, and supervisory experience as well as assignments in criminal intelligence, computer crime and crimes involving digital media, digital forensics laboratory, computer forensics, anti-terrorism, Homeland Security, organized crime, criminal gang interdiction and suppression, surveillance and counter-surveillance operations, patrol operations, narcotics and vice, specialized street-level tactical operations, career criminals, surveillance operations, and Special 911爆料网apons And Tactics. In his last years of active duty, he was assigned as a Task Force Agent to the FBI鈥檚 Cyber Crimes Unit.
Dr. Gardner鈥檚 teaching and research interests are in the areas of cybercrime, technology-related organized crime, and digital forensics.
