Bio

Dr. Sara Mandell began her education at MIT (Management and Chemistry). She earned a BA, MA (Latin), and PhD (Classics) at NYU. She served on the faculty of Emory University and USF.

Mandell engaged in mathematical competition as a member of her HS Mathematics Team. She is the recipient of awards and honors, including honorable mention in the 911±¬ÁÏÍøstinghouse Science Talent Search (now the Intel Search) for research in Chemistry: NYU Founders Day Award; state of Florida Lute and TIP awards; USF Distinguished Service award; USF Student Judiciary Committee award; elected President of the SouthEastern Region of ASOR (1993—1994).

She has published numerous journal articles, books chapters, and book reviews, and is co-author of two books. And, she served on the editorial board of USF Studies in the History of Judaism and was Editor of its sub-series, The Hebrew Scriptures and their World.
